We will be meeting at the Bicycle Transit Center and encourage all participants to arrive by riding bike, Trax, bus, or the Frontrunner. The ride will follow designated bike lanes throughout the city, and end at the Salt Lake City and County Building. We will be welcoming the riders participating in The Mayor’s Rivalry Ride. We will discuss and illustrate how easy it is to navigate SLC without the use of a car, and raise awareness about bike commuting in the city.

Join us on a fun ride through some of Utah’s historical Ghost Towns of Yesteryear. This is the perfect ride to start the season. Mostly flat country with some rolling hills, little traffic, the Pony Express trail, and awe inspiring vistas. Keep a watchful eye and you may even see some old miners off in the distance. Keen ears may hear the faint notes of bugles from old Camp Floyd, which was the largest military installation in the United States & the third largest city in Utah, or hear the creak and moan of wagons along the old Mormon Wagon Train trail. This year’s TdB will be organized differently than our first. This year riders will receive a map at registration will be able to choose their own adventure. We are working on including some new stops this year, as well as other fun and exciting additions.

Registration fee $40, includes 4 pints, meal, commemorative pint glass, and a warm fuzzy feeling that your money is going to support great causes.

Registration will be open between 11:30am — 1:30pm. You can start your adventure anytime in that window. The breweries will open for us at 12 noon. The wrap up party will begin around 4pm at the Live Green Festival, with a band scheduled for 5pm. Riders will return to the festival to pick up their thank you gifts and enjoy more music, food, and beer.

Date & Time: Saturday, May 16th, 2011, with a mass start at 6:00 a.m. sharp. Check-in is from 5:00–5:45 a.m., with brief announcements at about 5:50 a.m. This brevet will be held rain or shine.

Introduction: This new route is a combination of some of my favorite cycling areas in central Utah including the location for the Sanpete Classic Bicycle Race and Fun Ride. It travels on rural highways and quiet farm roads. The route starts in the small community of Santaquin, which is about 15 miles south of Provo. It then goes through Goshen and then immediately makes the 2,000-foot climb up to Eureka. The route then drops down into the west desert of Utah as it heads towards Little Sahara Sand Dunes, before it turns east, traveling through Nephi. It then makes another climb up Salt Creek Canyon to the north end of Sanpete County, where it goes through the towns of Fountain Green, Wales, Chester and Spring City (enjoy the free and fresh “on tap” spring water at this checkpoint). From Spring City the route proceeds down highway 89 to Gunnison, the southern most point of the ride. The route is designed to hopefully take advantage of the typical afternoon SW winds, as the last long leg proceeds north from Gunnison back to Santaquin.

This three-hour class will explore all aspects of bicycle commuting with emphasis on proper lane positioning, principles of traffic  low, minimizing risk, and maximizing enjoyment. The Gran Fondo Moab road cycling event will start in Moab and follow the La Sal Mountain Loop Road. The ride will be 60 miles with 5500 feet of climbing. This is one of the most beautiful routes you will ride in any cycling event. Takes place in Moab May 1 & 2.

The Gran Fondo Moab will be emulating an old Italian tradition. We will be riding the most spectacular mountain pass in the Manti-La Sals, widely known as the Loop Road. We will start and finish in the beautiful red rocks of Moab, Utah and will climb over 5500 feet in 60 miles.

This cycling event will not be run as a sanctioned race, as a majority of the riders will be participating for the enjoyment of riding a signed route through beautiful scenery with their friends and teammates. That said, as any serious cyclist knows, there is also satisfaction with not only completing an epic ride but with comparing your times with other riders afterward. We will ensure that all riders receive an accurate time and placing for their
efforts. Safety is paramount on this ride, as we will be riding open, narrow, mountain roads.

The Gran Fondo Moab will have MASS start with overall results and results broken up by age groups.  The route will have something for everyone with its steep climbs and rolling hills, flat sections and gorgeous scenery. This will be a cycling event that you will remember. Come join us!

About the La Sal Mountains…
The La Sal Range (or La Sal Mountains) is located in Grand and San Juan counties, near the eastern border of the state of Utah, and rising above the town of Moab. This range is part of the Manti-La Sal National Forest and the southern Rocky Mountains. The maximum elevation is at Mount Peale, reaching 12,721 feet (3,877 m) above sea level. The range contains three clusters of peaks separated by passes. The peaks span a distance of about 18 miles (25 km). The name of the range dates to Spanish times, when the Sierra La Sal (meaning the “Salt Mountains”) were a prominent landmark on the Old Spanish Trail between Santa Fe and Los Angeles.

The La Sal Mountain Loop Road features an amazing variety of canyon country scenery. The 60-mile long route follows the Colorado River for a while, then it heads to the La Sal Mountains through beautiful Castle Valley. The route through La Sals provides incredible views of the 12,000+ foot peaks and the red rock valleys far below. Finishing the loop takes one back to Moab via Spanish Valley Drive.

Every Sunday in May the Bonneville Cycling Club sponsors the Classic Sunday Morning Coffee ride starting at the Cal Western Store located at 7800 South 2700 West. The ride is a loop of 30 miles to the south and west with a re-group at the Camp Williams Maverick. B-C pace 13-18 mph with mild hills. Tour de Drome is a benefit Bike Tour with proceeds going to the future Velodrome to be built as part of the Field House in Ogden, UT. Participants can choose routes from 28 to 105 miles AND we are also going to have a „Fun Ride‰ for the younger kids that still want to participate.

Gallery Roll started in May 2009 with two cyclist and the idea of

Description: Goldilocks is a fully supported, non-competitive, women only, charity cycling event. This is a fun opportunity to spend the day with your girlfriends while enjoying a gorgeous ride through the southwest part of the Salt Lake Valley. The ride begins in Herriman, Utah and is a great mix of urban and rural riding as you travel through the Daybreak community, Lehi farmland, Thanksgiving Point, and Camp Williams.
